A child (or teenager if you will) named Ryuji Reika is a typical bookworm... and a loner.
He wants a tranquil life with no strange happenings like supernatural powers, non-human races, mythical beasts... Basically magic stuff.
But that's too boring, right?
Reika is late for his high school's entrance ceremony, Okurimono Senior High, and learns something that disrupts the peaceful life he aims for...

A magical tool, given by the gods, that defies all logic and physics, used by those who call themselves mages or warriors, and has existed ever since the dawn of humanity. But somehow, Reika has never heard of it.
