"...Am I missing something?," Nolan spoke up, "We're both feeling it, right?" Nolan had a nervous smile as he finished, and Alina's gaze froze. She felt the pull to reach for his face and smooth away all the tension.

What was she supposed to say?

"...it doesn't change the fact," she almost whispered as she pulled her hand away from his, Nolan's fingers clinging to hers for a moment, but never forcing. "that I don't belong here," Alina finished.

"You're wrong. You belong right here, next to me, isn't that obvious?" Nolan quipped, tilting his head and peering down at her with confusion in those intricate eyes. Alina might agree, if those eyes didn't stop pinning her down.

"You'll lead with me. My pack will love you. You'll birth my legacy..,"

Alina is a young, female werewolf that lives only with her mother, who has separated her daughter from the werewolf culture. They live secretive, careful lives to prevent violence. Alina doesn't even know what a pack is, let alone what benefits her mother has sacrificed as they live in exile.
