Once an unknown, normal girl, she's now a household name everywhere. And that's not the only pressure forced onto the fourth-grader. Mark really is just a normal kid. While the fourth-grader might be starting to get identified as 'Jasmine Ender's best friend', he tends to remain in a normal way of life. Forget the fact that his two best friends are girls, practically unheard of by kids their age because he knows they're going places as long as they stick together. Who else is going to be their normal in a world that's just gone insane? Glass shards are terrifying to a child who's afraid of windows into reality. But childhood blissful ignorance can't last forever, no matter how much these kids wish it could.
