Maybe I shouldn’t have been able to go home, wherever that may be. Easton always told me wherever he and Blake resided could be my home as well and I found comfort in those words. Now Blake and I were being held hostage in a twisted way--kidnapped is a better word--for who knows how long. There was a high possibility we would die here whether it be sooner or later.... 

The penthouse was deadly silent and the smell of blood crept through the halls. I refused the thought that it could be Blake’s blood, the thought of Elenora and Mr. Casimer breaking their promises. Instead, I balled up my fists and folded my body tightly together under the ominously clean sheets. I had to tell myself that this would end because it would sooner or later, but somehow it felt like a lie. All my optimism I was supposed to have was fading away as I slipped into a dark, dreamless sleep.
