Sana always loved sanam because he filled he life with happiness and love which she always lacked. But that happiness didn't last long and faded like her  worst dream she could ever have. 
She then turned herself into a  lonely person, speak less and kept herself away from everyone. later when she joined X college her life changed upside down. 'love' from which she Wanted to stay away. Her fate found its way and ended up in vikram's path.
